15.4. Insert 3D model in photographic background

Introduction

During the design process an architect often needs to display the photorealistic model of the building on the photograph that shows the new building’s real life surroundings. This can be particularly important e.g. when designing a house on a vacant lot.

However, merging the photorealistic image of the model with the photograph showing the environment is only the second step of the process.

First, we need the details of the photograph’s perspective to be able to display the created 3D model there.

The Add-On menu – Insert 3D Model in photographic backgroundfunctions of ARCHLine.XP® enables you to survey the perspective of the photograph that shows the environment; you do this with the help of a block whose enclosing parameters you define. This perspective will be applied on the model, too.
